Peirce Island - Portsmouth, NH

Dive #249: First dive at Peirce! As we cruised down the slope, there were hydroids absolutely everywhere. It was pretty easy to see why this is a nudi paradise. It took me several minutes of looking before I found my first nudi, but then I started seeing them everywhere. There were also egg strings from several different species all over the place. At one point, I came across two piles of Flabellina verrili - the first had probably 5 and the second was probably 3. It was tough to tell since it was just a mass of cerata. There were also some huge Dendronotus frondosus and I was able to get some great shots of nudis feasting on the plentiful hydroids. We reached the wall right at the end of the dive and found a bunch of barnacle eating nudis before we had to ascend. Amazing dive!!
