Northern pipefish

Tiny sea robin

Headed out 70 to see what we could see. We found a squishy keeper lobster in 15 feet of water, but all the other sizable lobsters we found were eggers. Found several rock gunnels, a sea lemon, a tiny tiny windowpane, a larger, very skittish windowpane, and Mike found a yellow pipefish to end the dive. On the way back, we swam over the gigantic boulder and I was surprised to see that all of the tiny mussels that had gathered there during the summer were all gone. My camera housing was fogged out, so we'll see if I can salvage a few pictures from the day. For dive #2, we headed out 10 to try and hit the edge of the channel while also swimming over rocks. This worked ok for a little while, but we ended up in a large sand patch, so we headed to the right to find more rocks. There was a giant egger just out walking around in the sand! We spotted a few more eggers, but the real highlights of this dive were in the sand. I found a couple pipefish, including one that came right up to my lens and hovered around my hand for a bit. The other awesome find of this dive was a baby sea robin - it was probably 2 inches long and super cute. The sand in the shallows really delivered on this one.
