Dive #361: First dive of 2021! After over a week of rough weather conditions, we were excited to hit the water. High tide was a king tide and at 11am, so had a nice, easy entry with the water all the way in. We headed down the right side to maximize our bottom time before the chill set in and were greeted with a nice selection of nudis. The first thing I saw on this dive was a naked sea butterfly floating just above the rocks! I had only seen this species one other time, so I was very excited. I snapped a few shots, but then I lost it before I could show Paula. We also saw some rim-backed nudis, although they seemed smaller and less prevalent than the last few dives. Paula found several hairy spiny doris and I found a couple sap-sucking slugs and a big shag-rug in the shallows. This was a nice, slow dive as we turned at 45 minutes and then only took 15 minutes to swim back in. We briefly considered a second dive, but I wasn't thawed 30 minutes into our surface interval so we decided one was enough. Great dive!
