Front Beach - Rockport, MA

We entered at the stairs instead of the ramp, wandered in and headed out 40. There were lots of squid and a few windowpanes and some small skates, but not as many as our previous night dive. The skates on this dive were smaller, but still hung around for some awesome shots as they were cruising in the sand. I also randomly spotted a Flabellina nudi in the water column, which was surprising with water temps in the high 60s. After a long time swimming around, we cruised back to the shallows to look for some excitement. I spotted a pipefish that wandered through my line holder and seemed a bit curious about the wide angle lens. After awhile, I noticed Paula's lights were flashing off in the distance, so I grabbed the flag and headed over there. She had found a small juvenile lookdown up near the surface. It had long trailing fins and a yellow tint, and was so cool to see! It was challenging to photograph since it was right at the surface, but I managed a couple decent shots before it headed toward Paula and managed to get lost passing by. Awesome dive! Always fun to see the tropicals!
