After last week's dive at this location, Asli mentioned that she felt like we were going to see a seahorse during that dive. We dropped in, swam over to the pier, and about 20 minutes in she was wiggling her light furiously. Of course, she had found a seahorse. Obviously. What else could it have been? Viz was complete garbage, but I snapped away. After a little while, we cruised on and found several sea lemons, a pipefish on the edge of a grate, an uncooperative sea raven, and a mysterious tiny red fish. The current had started to pick up a bit and Asli and I got separated in the terrible viz so I slowly kicked back toward entry. I came upon some familiar landmarks and knew I was close to the seahorse. Upon arrival, I found Andrea still snapping away. The viz had cleared up significantly, so I managed to get some nice shots of the seahorse. I continued in and swapped over to the beach side of the pier (note to self: go to at least the second opening - the first one was ~2 feet deep at the end of the dive and involved some "beached whale" wiggling). The bottom is mostly small rocks with clumps of rockweed. I found a pair of Acanthodoris pilosa in one patch and spent some time lining up the macro shot with my wide angle, which yet again worked quite well. I cruised the rest of the way in and hopped out. Awesome dive!
